    1. I’ve always wondered what to do about this if I have no torch. I hear you can use a broiler, but I’ve never seen it done well. Suggestions?

    2. I bought 35% cream to make this but was wondering if 15% could pass for “heavy cream”?

    3. i’m thinking about vanilla bean creme brulee!

    4. @Coco Bean: Mark Bittman has a creme brulee recipe that offers light cream or half-and-half as a substitute for heavy cream: http://bitten.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/03/27/recipe-of-the-day-vanilla-creme-brulee/

      Go for it!

    5. Great pick! I love an excuse to make creme brulee!

    6. Hubby proclaimed if it wasn’t for my blog, he would never get creme brulee! Great pick!

    7. Ohhh, yes. I have made Ina’s creme brulee many times. Follow her recipe to the letter. It is sooo good.
Come to think of it, I have NEVER made anything that wasn’t spectacular from her.
