    Musings: Jam Thumbprint Cookies

We’ll start posting this month’s second cookie recipe, Ina’s Jam Thumbprints, on Thursday, April 22. Ina recommends raspberry or apricot jam, but I’ve got a feeling we’ll be seeing some experimentation here. Anyone using homemade jam? How good would that be?

    1. I did use homemade strawberry jam and they were fantastic!

    2. i’m considering dropping some of my homemade apple butter into a few of these bad boys.

    3. don’t use a curd. i used homemade lime curd. it ran over the cookie and onto the pan, where it burned horribly before the cookie cooked through.

    4. I’ve got several homemade jams hanging out in my pantry that I think I’ll be using for these cookies.

    5. I always make these with a raspberry jam. With the icing they are really REALLY fabulous.

    6. I like the idea of the apple butter. I make a batch of it every fall and I think I have one jar left.

    7. I made them with cherry and strawberry. The cherry wins, hands down! Delicious. I wasn’t excited about this cookie, but now that I have tried it…I love it!

    8. These were great but the recipe was a disaster for me – dough wouldn’t stay together…. I ended up only getting 8 cookies out of the recipe. But they were so good that I’m going to have to try again

    9. I’m going to be late this week with making and posting but I should be done with them on Saturday…have to make these as they look so yummy!

    10. Really loved this cookie. They were beautiful look at, too! I used orange marmalade and blackberry jam. BIG hit! Great recipe!

How did the apple butter turn out??

    11. I didn’t go with apple butter. Instead, I also used orange marmalade (which was great!) and raspberry jam.

I think this would be the perfect cookie for a bridal or baby shower – so sweet and dainty!

    12. This is my very first bake with Barefoot Bloggers and I’m so thrilled to start with one of my fav. Ina’s recipe. I made Lemon Curd thumbprints instead of the raspberry or apricot jam. Love it!

    13. I made these using raspberry preserves as suggested and they were wonderful! I was surprised by how much I liked them.

    14. […] I have not officially joined Barefoot Bloggers, I love Ina Garten¬†recipes and these Jam Thumprint Cookies are no exception. They’re sweet, […]
