• Rolling Up Our Sleeves with Barefoot Contessa

We're an [extra]ordinary group of cookers and bakers with a love of all things Ina. We'll be blogging through the recipes in How Easy Is That? as a group posting about them on each Thursday of every month.

    FAQs

I believe that each new blogging event is a learning experience for everyone – the host and the participants alike. For that reason, I’ve created a Frequently Asked Questions page that might help to answer some questions (for both current Bloggers and for those considering joining us) as we move along during this event.

    1. How do I make a blog?

Go to any blog hosting site and follow the directions about to how to create a blog. It’s a learning process, for sure, but once you get the hang of it, blogging is a piece of [lemon] cake. Some sites are: WordPress, Blogger (through Google), Vox, and Typepad.

    2. Can I make substitutions to the recipes?

Sure, as long as you’re not drastically changing the recipe. I noted to one member: “Add nuts, omit nuts, use pecans instead of walnuts…all of that is fine…but if the recipe is for Ina’s lemon cakes and you turn out a chocolate pound cake, I think you’ve gone too far.” Amending recipes to your own tastes is what cooking and baking are about but we’re all baking the same recipes here and I feel like our end products should be fairly similar – how can we rate Ina’s recipes if we change them so much?

    3. What if I’m allergic to something in the recipe?

Either omit the allergen or if you think it will alter the recipe too much (like in a recipe where nuts are the main ingredient) and choose not to make it, shoot me an email (barefootbloggers@gmail.com) and let me know. I’ll issue you a “PASS” for that recipe.

    4. Do I have to notify anyone when I post a BB recipe in my blog?

    Nope.

    5. Where can I find the group’s avatar/logo?

    See this post.

    6. Do I have to post the group’s avatar/logo on my blog?

    It’s totally up to you!

    7. Are you accepting new members?

This group is no longer active.

    1. Thank you for this information. This site is admirable. You seem to have covered everything somewhere on the site, if not here. It is appreciated.
