    Musings: Grilled Herb Shrimp

After all of the comfort food and cookies we’ve made, it’s time to try one of Ina’s lighter recipes: Grilled Herb Shrimp. We’ll start posting this one on Thursday, May 27.

So, what do you think? Is this one a keeper?

    1. Definately a keeper!

    2. Easy and quick, these were great for an impromptu BBQ. I preferred them hot, but can easily be served at room temperature or cold.

    3. Hi Everybody, When I chose this recipe I tried to also include the mango salsa that compliments it. It is on page 140 of BC Parties and is an extension of the shrimp recipe. It is also on the Food network but paired with something else. Include it if you wish. With Memorial Day coming up, I thought this could be something that you could cook on the grill for the holiday. Enjoy. I am making it tonight wth the risotto – although I would not recommend both dishes together because they all take time; especially if you make the mango salso. Back to the kitchen.

    4. Is anyone monitoring the barefoot blogger e-mail? I’ve sent messages three times over the last six weeks and all I have ever gotten back is the auto-response that’s generated as soon as the e-mail is received. I had to drop out of the group last year because of having to get a bone marrow transplant, but have been trying to get reinstated. Had wanted to get started with May, but I still haven’t heard anything.

BTW, these shrimp are TDF. I’ve made them many times and will be posting about them on the 27th. Definitely a keeper recipe.

    5. I have to pass on this recipe. I am deathly allergic to shellfish and am leaving to go out of town tomorrow. Does anyone know if chicken would work in this?
Becky how frustrating for you! Not sure what is up with that.

    6. Peggy – I did mine with chicken and it turned out great.

Becky – I am sure Tara will get to you. She might only check the email at the beginning of the month when the picks are due so I would give it another week or two. I am sure a bone marrow transplant will count as a good excuse for dropping out šŸ˜‰

    7. Thanks! I hope it will be OK. I really would like to be part of the group again and I wasn’t able to do much of anything for months. I did go ahead and post about the shrimp. It’s one of our favourite Ina recipes. And yes, I have also used the herb mixture with chicken.

    8. This is a keeper. The mango salsa is a must! We have made this a few times and always come back for a repeat!

    9. does anyone know where Tara is and where the June recipes are?

    10. I have just gotten around to posting this recipe. It rained nearly everyday the week that this post was scheduled so I finally gave up on grilling the shrimp and just sauteed them. They were still very yummy. It’s finally stopped raining around here so hopefully I’ll get around to trying them grilled soon.

    11. I finally made this, a month late, and it was soooo good! And super easy. The leftovers, hard to believe there were any, were just as good the next day. And I usually don’t like the texture of shrimp the day after it was cooked. This is a keeper!
